As the title suggests, Bastards of Melody is a primer of brash'n'sassy power pop that expends only 25 minutes to execute its whirlwind ten-track content. Ironically, "Green Tambourine," and while enjoyable, comes across just a tad overly-cautious and respectful. The group cracks its whip with much more authority on such originals as the frantic "Jane," dramatic anthem "Into Battle," and (its real stock-in-trade) the crisp Anglo-jangle meets garage-rock riffing of "Touch" and "Please" — picture a basementfull of earnest punk rockers mysteriously body-snatched by Badfinger or the Raspberries. -AMG

This is the first time I've heard about the Love Nut album and I am now intrigued. Can't wait to hear this.
