When the package arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Rex and Christina included a copy of the new Librarians With Hickeys disc aptly entitled Long Overdue. Needless to say, I was stoked. I put the album to the side and quickly loaded the new disc into my cd player and sat back and listened.
Long Overdue, the first full length release from this Akron based band and it does not disappoint. Containing sharply written songs that introduce their wit and personality, catchy hooks and its tight arrangements, Librarians With Hickeys have packed a lot into 12 short songs. There's not a weak tune to be found.
If you are a fan of jangly power pop from a band that has perfected their craft and deliver refreshingly simple songs that appeal to everyone, Long Overdue is what you have been waiting for, it’s fresh, energetic and fun, unlike much of the over-produced music available today.
