Broken Promise Keeper - Songs of Hypocrisy and Hippos - 2007

Broken Promise Keeper is all about the power and the pop. Power in the form of driving guitars, chugging bass lines, and pounding drums. Pop from the vocal harmonies, hook-filled melodies, and crisp production. When done right, it's like a candy-covered grenade. You turn it up and can't help singing along. It rocks out in a way that's almost uncool, it's so fun. While power pop's "popularity" has never regained the glory of the 1960s (starting with The Beatles and The Who) and the 70s (Cheap Trick and The Raspberries) when it was a radio staple, power-pop hits still occasionally rear their catchy heads. But lately, it seems the more respected you are by those who appreciate the genre, the more obscure you are. Broken Promise Keeper assures you he's beyond obscure. So that means this stuff is great! -CD Baby
